United for ‘See You At The Pole’

United for 'See You At The Pole'

It began as a small group of students praying before school in Texas, but now it’s a world-wide event.

See You At The Pole,” a global day of prayer, will take place Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 6:50 am. Students, staff and community members are welcome to gather around the flag pole to pray.

This year’s theme, “UNITED,” was taken from Acts 1:14, “They all met together and were constantly united in prayer.” Students have been spreading the word using #united and #syatp.

The Tribe, Utica High’s Christian youth group, is helping advertise the event. They are also bringing in a local musician to play the guitar and lead songs.

“It’s important for Christian students to realize that there’s other Christians in their school that they may not know about,” teacher and The Tribe co-sponsor John See said. “You can possibly make new friends, and plus it’s just great to come together with a group like this and pray.”

The Tribe will also pass out information about their club, which meets Friday mornings 6:50 – 7:15 in room 205.
