Popular rapper, singer, and songwriter Travis Scott made his stop at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit for his Circus Maximus tour following his album release.
Many students who went to the concert had to give up a few hours of sleep on a school night.
“Oh my god yes,” senior Emma McIntosh said. “I ended up getting home around 1:30a.m. and I still showed up, but I wasn’t affected by it.”
Scott’s performance definitely elevated the excitement levels. “My friends convinced me to go with them,” senior Layan Hassan said. “But he was a great performer and it was exciting.”
Having fun is to be expected at concerts, almost required. “The excitement leading up to the concert made getting home at 1:30 in the morning worth it,” senior Emma Puwal said.
Concerts are always high energy events and the Circus Maximus experience did not fall short.
“It was crazy, you could feel the energy,” senior Dylan Kelley said. “The sub woofers all around were shaking me like crazy.”
Artists put a lot of thought into their stage design to create an immersive experience.
“The stage was wild looking,” senior Riley Sangster said. “The amount of detail that went into amazed me.”
A concerts crowd is important and Travis Scott fans kept that energy up.
“The crowd was so energized compared to other concerts,” Puwal said. “He performed way better and the stage set up was better.”
The sound system at the concert impressed many students.
“This concert was probably the loudest concert I’ve ever been to,” McIntosh said. “I’ve heard amazing things about them but I had to experience it myself.”
One notable part that everyone remembers from this tour was the amount of times the song FEIN was played.
“It was played six times,” Hassan said.
A crazy thing for a performer to do, playing the same song back-to-back.
“Is this dude crazy,” Kelley said. “Make it seven.”
Circus Maximus lived up to its name and blew students’ expectations through the roof.
