“What should I get them for Christmas?”
This is a common question many have during the holiday season. Gifts are meant to bring joy, which is exactly what the school store brought to the table in their Secret Santa activity. Not only did it allow for members to get to know each other better, but it also boosts morale around exams.
Teacher Dana Boice enjoys the bonding aspect of the swap.
“I see the school store as a family who works as a unit,” Boice said. “It is fun to see the different presents that each student gets for each other.”
Many of the school store students enjoyed their gifts, as they were catered to the person’s taste.
“I got a Dunkin’ Donuts gift card from Kendall Bassy,” senior Angelina Williams said. “I liked that it was a secret because it made it more fun not knowing what you would get or who it was from.”
Bonding activities like these can open people up to new friendships that they thought they would never have.
“I had one friend I knew in school store before the start of the year,” senior Jacksen Hubbard said. “Since starting the class I feel so much more comfortable with countless people.
Of all of the gifts, one of the most popular was gift cards.
“I got a Target gift card, lotion, and Hershey kisses from Haley Rojeski,” senior Aeryn Harris said. “Working in the school store is different from other classes because it is low stress and we also get to do a lot of fun things.”
Secret Santa brought the school store staff together for a cheerful holiday get-together.
