Bathroom epidemic
The recent school bathroom situation really stinks.
The bathroom was vandalized by what is assumed to be a few students. All puns aside, this is a really terrible way to start off the new year.
We have to spend about 35 hours a week at school; it is basically our home. No one would want to live in a place with a broken toilet seat cover–at least I do not.
How do you even break a toilet seat cover? It must have been out of brute force and anger. This is in no way a funny prank. I have not talked to one person who thought it was funny.
I think it is such a disrespectful act to both the school and other students. It is a whole new level from writing on the walls in pencil. When principal Thomas Lietz first made the announcement, I was completely perplexed as to what a motive behind this would be. I was also upset, because I do not want to go to the bathroom in a place that is completely ruined.
If this continues to be a problem, there is a possibility they would have to monitor the bathrooms, only allowing one person at a time. I am not okay with that. I think students should be allowed to use the bathrooms as they please, but how could administration allow us to do that if they cannot trust us?
We will be adults within the next for years; it is time to act like it. Breaking a toilet seat in half and ruining the bathroom is not the way to start.
