Parents’ Tweets to graduating seniors to be shown on Palace Jumbotron

Photos, messages will appear at the Palace

As the year comes to an end, seniors will soon be walking across the stage at the Palace, hoping for a great future.

Proud parents can tweet out messages to their graduates, sending congratulations or good luck for the future. Photos are also welcome. As the students and their families and friends sit in the Palace of Auburn Hills, the tweets will flash across the Jumbotron for all to see.

Tweets have already been coming in, using the hashtag #uhs17, along with #UHS to distinguish a Utica High grad from the other three district high schools.

“Congratulations Michael & Julia Candela! We are so proud of your accomplishments! We love you! M&D,” @james_candela tweeted about seniors Michael and Julia Candela.

After 13 years of hard work, seniors will be throwing their caps, listening to a final goodbye from principal Tom Lietz, and giving final farewells to the friends they’ve made over the years.

The messages on the Jumbotron will add excitement to the day.

“I think it’s good that my mom can tweet me and show me support,” senior Kayla Eubanks said. “She’s really excited to see me graduate.”
