Stand Up 2 Cancer tees on sale now
The competition is on. Students can pre-order “Cancer Awareness Week” tees for $12 through their fourth hour teachers, and according to sponsor John See, “the prizes are going to be pretty big.”
The sophomore class, led by See, is sponsoring the second annual event, which takes place Nov. 2 – 9. All proceeds will be donated to “Stand Up 2 Cancer.”
“All classes have an equal chance of winning,” See said, “because we are making it an average per student, not just the grand total.”
The class with the highest percentage of tees purchased will win lunch provided by Buffalo Wild Wings, second place is pizza from Jet’s, and third place is bagels and cream cheese.
“There will also be a participation award of popcorn and a movie,” See said, “given to the class with the highest percentage of kids who wear their awareness t-shirt or the color of the day.”
The shirts read “U fight” on the front, and “U hope” and the “Stand Up 2 Cancer” logo on the back. They are black with lavendar ink, the universal cancer color, and can be ordered until Wednesday, Oct. 21.
