Miss crowning Miss Universe

December 20th was a night that some people will never forget. For some ladies, it was the best night of their life. However, most will remember the night as one big mistake. That was the night of the Miss Universe pageant, an event that means the world to the contestants and to the people who helped them on their way there.

After a long night of preparation and pageantry, the moment came to announce Miss Universe 2015. The event was hosted by Steve Harvey, a comedian and the host of the popular game show Family Feud. Harvey built up the suspense and finally dropped the ball. “Miss Universe twenty fifteen is… Colombia!”

Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez-Arévalo, immediately broke down in happiness. Miss Philippines was crowned the first place runner up, and was escorted off stage. After a few minutes of celebrating, Steve Harvey returned to the stage with big news,

“I have to apologize, the first runner-up is Colombia. Miss Universe 2015 is Miss Philippines.

After the news, the crown was removed from Miss Colombia and given to Miss Philippines, the rightful owner of the competition.

The two ladies were both shocked at the news, and Harvey felt terrible for switching up the names. The card with the results on it had said that Miss Philippines was the winner from the beginning.

After the pageant, neither of the contestants spoke publicly about the mix up for nearly two and a half weeks.

After the long silence, Miss Colombia lashed out against the Miss Universe Organization,

“In four minutes they destroy your dreams, they throw it in a bag, and they throw it in the trash.”

There was talk of the two ladies sharing the crown. Miss Philippines responded to the statement by saying that she will not share the crown with Miss Colombia.

After the whole mess, it was announced that Steve Harvey will be hosting the event next year. The news came as a shock to many, but others expected the news as it will most likely fetch larger attention after what happened this year.

Hopefully next year’s pageant runs smoother than this years, after all, there can only be one winner.
