Utica High kicks off the spooky season with decorating the spirit rock. Student Council has painted the rock in dedication of this year’s homecoming theme “Haunted Victorian.”

The rock has many sentimental values to the Chieftain family, every big event is painted on the rock. Utica displays it with pride and joy.

“When I drive to school I love seeing the decorated rock,” junior Brooklynn Hathcock said. “It makes me get into the Halloween spirit.”

The design on the rock is a haunted house on the front and a spooky skeleton on the back. On the bottom They painted hands doing the ‘U’ to show Chieftain pride.

“Painting the rock was a very fun experience,” junior Leah Remy explained. “We talked, listened to music and just had a great time together”
