On Wed, January 29, Utica’s Quiz Bowl team took second place at their MAC Quiz Bowl competition. The team consists of seven members, who have practiced weekly for the past four months.

“It felt really good to get second with all the hard work we put into it,” junior Sachit Soni said. “We started in September and it’s been a long year of training. I have always liked jeopardy and quizzing myself.”

The team played 14 rounds, with a record of 12-2. They came in second place to Grosse Pointe North, the only team they lost to. Although being in the top two was exciting, junior Matthew Robertson expressed his regret.

“It felt good but I am disappointed it was not first,” Robertson said. “I hope to study more and be better prepared for next year.”

Overall, the team is happy about their success, but has high hopes for next year.
