Simpson Conspiracies
March 16, 2020
Conspiracies have been with us since the beginning of time. We use conspiracies as a way to help us figure out why something has happened or why something is the way it is. Society use conspiracies to share their voice with the world and express their thoughts and opinions on a certain topic.
The Simpson conspiracies are very well known and have been brought to attention numerous times. What they are is that many people think that the Simpsons writers are time travelers who have seen the future and now using this show to warn us about the future. It may sound silly, but these 3 predictions I talk about today will prove otherwise.
Donald Trump presidency: Season 11, Episode 17: Bart to the Future
One of the most controversial episodes is Bart to the future. In this episode aired in 2000, Lisa Simpson is now the president and she is in a meeting with the Cabinet members. She discusses how they have had a budget crunch because of President Trump. This was aired 16 years before President Trump was elected for president. Back then he was just a businessman and no one would have ever thought that he would run for president. Sure enough, he did and won against Hilary Clinton in the 2016 election. Coincidence?
Video chats: Season 6, Episode 19: Lisa’s Wedding
Aired in 1995 before all of these technological advancements virtual chats were presented in this episode, like Skype or Facetime. This was 15 years before 2010 where apple started booming and all of the phones went viral. This prediction showed advancements in our society that no one was even thinking about at the time. It was so far ahead of its time, the real question is how did they come up with his idea?
Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl performance: Season 23, Episode 22: Lisa Goes Gaga
This one that shocked many was Lady Gaga’s Superbowl performance resemblance to the one in the Simpson show Lisa Goes Gaga in 2012. In 2017 Gaga sang on a wire while floating above the crowd and in 2012 the Simpsons showed a Lady Gaga performance very similar to the one at the halftime show almost 5 years apart. Even their outfits looked almost similar. Was this all planned or did the writers know what was gonna go down?
Some may argue that these were just coincidences, but there are many more “coincidences” these are just my favorite 3. It blows my mind to think about how these all have been true and that someone watching 10 years previously would have never known that these would actually come true.
Our world is a very mysterious place and we use these conspiracies to try to figure out the unknown. It’s what keeps us going and gives us a chance to think about what could have happened if one small event was different. Everything would be different. We may have been living differently or not even be here.
