There have been controversies about the best clothes and shoes. People have debated about the best brands to wear and if something was a waste of money.

Shoe brands like Converse and Adidas have been worn for years, but a favorite recently has been Crocs.

“Crocs are probably my favorite shoes,” junior Makaila Thomas said. “I like the Jibbitz mostly because they make the shoes more unique and look more cute.”

This popular footwear is sure to be spotted through the halls since many students like them.

“I wear crocs a lot,” senior Riley Sangster said.” They are really comfortable and easy to slip on to leave the house quickly.”

Crocs have different forms, such as high heels, tie dye, lined fuzzy crocs, and numerous more designs.

“I wish I had the fluffy crocs,” senior Kaitlyn Pace said. “They are giving fall vibes and I just know they are very comfortable.”

There are some students who are a fan of crocs, but there are others that would disagree.

“Crocs are the ugliest shoes,” sophomore Jamra Krajnik said. “They are uncomfortable, and I always see people tripping in the hallway while wearing them.”

Balenciaga has sparked some debates amongst people, whether or not it’s worth the price, and also about the scandal back in 2022, with tons of people and news articles saying that Balenciaga is promoting child abuse. This scandal caused people to not buy items from their brand anymore, and in result, they fell off.

“Balenciaga sock shoes are the most overhyped designer shoe,” sophomore Austin Howell said. “For the price, they just don’t look good and everything about it is just unreasonable.”

People have stopped wearing Yeezy slides, and instead decided to substitute them for something cheaper like Nike or Under Armour.

“One trend I’ve wasted money on was the Yeezy slides,” sophomore Robert Byrd said. “There is nothing wrong with them I just don’t wear them anymore.”

Most people own Items from Nike. Whether it be hoodies, sweatpants, or shoes. Tons of people buy from and support Nike. Not only does Nike make good quality clothing but it is also a reasonable price that makes people happy to not be spending money carelessly on bad quality clothes.

“The best clothing brand to buy from would be Nike,” junior Terrill Campbell said. “I own so many Nike clothes, their hoodies are really comfortable and affordable.”

People like to wear bigger clothes to feel more comfortable and not so exposed in tight clothes.

“My favorite clothing trend is definitely oversized clothes,” sophomore Riana Hasangic said. “Big hoodies and baggy sweatpants are so comfy to wear anywhere.”

Teachers also have opinions on what students are wearing.

“I don’t like those Eric Emanuel shorts everyone wore two years ago,” teacher Clayton Sumner said. “They are $200-300 and are so short and tight.”

Nike Techs are making their way up in fame and tons of men and even some women have a Tech.

“I like the Nike Tech,” freshman Nicholas Burho said. “I don’t have one, but they look comfortable and stylish.”

One of the most hated shoes are the chunky white Filas. Lots of students hate these shoes and very few are a fan of them.

“The worst shoes that were ever trending was probably the white and thick Filas,” senior Madilyn Woodard said. “They are so big and chunky. I like a more subtle and smaller sneaker rather than those.”

It’s getting colder out, and more people are wanting to dress warmer. Thick and baggy pants are usually a staple in peoples’ closets, especially for chilly times like now.

“The cargo pants trend is nice,” junior Ali Al-Dujaili said. “I just think that they look pretty.”

Shoes with thicker and softer soles are preferred, mostly for the comfort level.

“White air forces were so overrated because of the soles,” sophomore Sam John said. “I am basically walking on the ground at that point and they don’t even add height.”
