As the end of the school year approaches fast, many seniors are not only thinking about the future, but reflecting on the past. Closing out high school and starting a new chapter of life can be really scary, but also very exciting. It is good for seniors to look back at all their experiences and accomplishments, while also looking forward and planning for what is ahead.

“I’m excited to graduate and get out of school” senior Gavin Hogsten said. “Even though the real world may be scary and even mentally destroying sometimes, I’m happy to get out there and start my career”

Many seniors feel similar to Hogsten about starting a new chapter.

“I’m excited to graduate and start a new chapter in my life” senior Claire Buren said. “I have committed to Western Michigan University to study Exercise Science. I hope to continue synchronized skating in college and skate for their team”

I am very excited to graduate and move on to a new chapter in life with my peers. I am looking forward to my graduation party, and celebrating with lots of friends and family. Although I am excited for this new stage in my life, I will miss seeing friends and some of my favorite teachers every day.

Like Buren, many seniors are thinking about what they want to get their degree in for college.

“I am excited to graduate high school and to go to a good college” senior Dominic Paladino said. “Going to college will get me a good job in my future. I hope to get a degree in business when I am older”

Some students are even looking forward past college and planning for their life after they get their degree.

“I am excited to graduate from high school and get into college” senior Emerson Bock said. “I am also excited to then graduate college and get into a career that I am happy with and start that new chapter of my life”

As students think about the future, they feel excited, stressed, happy, and sad. But overall, students are hopeful for their future and what is to come for them.

Love this! I remember watching SpongeBob in the mornings when I was younger and it was one of my favorite shows! I wish we could go back to parachute day in gym, especially because graduation is coming up. It was awesome!
