During fourth hour, student council and competitors in the fundraising tournament set up the volleyball nets before the games begin fifth hour, March 22..

Student Council will be hosting a volleyball tournament on Friday, March 22, the day before spring break.

“We wanted to have an event that all students could participate in before break,” student council co-adviser Mark Moehlig said. “We’re hoping to get at least 15 teams signed up.”

Teams must turn in $40 in order to register. Teams consist of eight people, and they must at have at least two girls on the court at all times.

At the volleyball tournament, there will be a lot of events going on. This event is expected to be very upbeat and exciting.

“There will be a DJ, a hula hoop contest, and other surprises,” student council co-adviser Erin Derk said. “The money raised will go toward funding more fun events.”

Students are excited for the tournament, such as those excited to play and give the audience something good to watch.

“I am 100% excited,” senior Jorge Martinez said. “I’m looking forward to hanging out with friends and playing in front of everyone.”

Others are excited to raise money that will go toward the school.

“I’m really excited for it,” freshman Ariana Dirr said. “The money is going to a great cause, and it’ll be a lot of fun.”
