The girls bowling team had a successful game at the MAC white division with an undefeated record of 12-0.

“I felt accomplished of me and my team for winning,” senior Regan Kelly said.

After some less successful seasons, the team is happy to be back on a winning streak.
“We’re all thrilled to be back in the winner’s circle,” coach Taran Heersma said. “We won the division in 2021, and we’re glad to be back on top.”

The girls were knocked out by Zeeland State by half a point, almost having state title.
“It was a little upsetting,” freshman Adriana Diponio said, “but they were really good at bowling. It was a good competition.”

“We didn’t get to win,” junior Hadley Clark said, “but I was happy about how we bowled.”

The team won all their games leading up to the Mac White.

“I felt accomplished about me and my whole team,” senior Regan Kelly said.
The scores leading up to the Mac White were unbeatable. Ford 27-3, Anchor Bay 19.5-11.5, Roseville 26-4, Lakeview 28-2, Warren Woods Tower 28-2, Cousino 282, Ford 28- 2, Lakeview 30-0, Anchor Bay 24-6, Cousino 30-0, Warren Woods Tower 22-8, Rose-ville 19-11. They were third place in states.
“Ike and Dakota were our best competition,” Clark said.

There was high anticipation leading up to the Mac White.

“The match against Zeeland was one of the most intense matches I’ve ever seen,” Heersma said. “It literally came down to the last ball, and, unfortunately, it didn’t work out for us.”

At the same time, the boys’ basketball team was also undefeated. Many of the girls on the team felt their success was covered up and overlooked because of this.
“They’re more well-known,” Diponio said. “There is not as many people who are interested in bowling. It was frustrating, but it didn’t affect my game.”
The team stayed optimistic with their motto being, ‘We can beat anybody on any day.’
“We have a good bond, were like a family,” Clark said.

Overall, the girls bowling team had great success with their games and a great connection to each other. They are a strong team and plan to come back even stronger next year.
