There are lots of award shows on television that honor singers, songwriters, producers, and directors. But there is only one award show that recognizes filmmakers, score makers, film editors, and actors across the world. That one award show is the highly prestigious Oscars. The Oscars is a major recognition.

The Oscars took place on March 27 with A-list celebrities such as Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Lady Gaga, and the biggest stars of the night, Jada-Pickett Smith, Will Smith, featuring the host himself, Chris Rock. There were many ground-breaking awards, but also career-ruining drama that took place on stage with Chris and Will themselves.

After the onstage drama with Will Smith and Chris Rock, everybody was in shock of what happened and shared their reactions on Twitter. A couple hilarious Twitter reactions to the slap were:

“Andrew Garfield texting the other Peter Parkers to see if Will Smith slapped Chris Rock in their universes too,” Twitter user Clint Lamb said.

There was another Tweet that poked fun at Chris’ G.I. Jane joke.

“Chris Rock made the joke but Will Smith delivered the punchline,” Twitter user prapti said.

Right after assaulting fellow comedian onstage, Will Smith accepted the Best Actor award and said in tears:

“I want to apologize to the Academy, I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment, and I’m not crying for winning an award. It’s not about winning an award for me, it’s about being able to shine a light on all the people. The entire cast and crew of King Richard,” Smith said.

“Art imitates life,” Smith said. “I look like the crazy father, just like they said. I look like the crazy father just like they said about Richard Williams. But love will make you do crazy things.”

Overall, many fans of both comedians weren’t impressed with either of them, but the Oscars was much more than the drama. Billie Eilish won for her James Bond OST, “No Time To Die’, CODA won for Best Movie and Best Adapted Screenplay, and Dune won many awards during the night.
