Jordan Terrell Carter, more famously known as Playboi Carti, was originally a well-known underground rapper who in recent years has gained a larger following due to his melodies and his verses he sings. Carti has produced three studio albums named Whole Lotta Red, Die Lit, and Playboi Carti, He did announce the release of a new album but failed follow through, He failed to follow through by not producing any tracks
Carti’s fans were not only disappointed with the rapper but furious and seeking revenge because of him postponing his album and also not releasing any music. Although Carti didn’t give a specific release date fans felt that it should be out by now since he also hinted at the release of an album during a stream with Adin ross about his newest upcoming album “I wasn’t surprised when he didn’t release any music,” junior Anika Woods said. “Mainly because his last album was in 2020. Currently, I don’t hate him; but, he does need to release a new album.”
Fans have gone as far as hacking into his social media accounts and leaking his music for the new album, they have also signed petitions to cancel him complete and have posted unreleased music on his YouTube which a fan named the unreleased album, “I am music”. Through all of this he did not give a reason to his fans as why the album has been postponed for three years and why he did not release in 2024 after hinting at his fans. His agent of the label company later told the fans that the album will be released when it is ready.
“I hope he releases music with Lil Uzi on his new album,” junior Tyler Williams said. “Anytime they have teamed up together they have made amazing songs so I would be excited if they do another song together”
Playboi Carti has done many collaborations with song artists like Lil, Uzi and Nicki Minaj, Playboi Carti has also done collaborations with Camila Cabano. On die lit an album that was released On May 11th, 2018, Carti and Uzi both teamed up together and produced Shoota a high energy trap heavy song. The song talks about street and life success, along with personal confidence. Through this song they trade verses with each other using catchy ad-libs. Fans loved it and kept wanting more from them but due to conflicts between them they haven’t made a song together in 2024, Playboi Carti only released two songs in 2024 one was Timeless that featured amazing vocals and an energetic beat between the artist the weekend and himself. The other song he released was a solo song called All-red.
“Playboi Carti does have amazing songs but he doesn’t release enough in order for fans to be happy,” junior Easton Myny said. ” He is an over praised artist”
Playboi Carti did play at rolling loud and played die lit and most of his albums, despite his fans being mad at him he still had one of the biggest crowds on rolling loud, his fans also were all loving his music, the crowd had a lot of energy as well, During rolling loud Carti did play a song with the weekend called Lose You. It currently isn’t fully done and there are only unreleased versions of it.
Playboi Carti will continue to do what he does best and lie to his fans due to him not listening to his fans as well as also not being a artist that drops albums for their fans.
