The varsity basketball team faced long time rivals Eisenhower in their matchup this weekend on Saturday, Dec. 2. This game ended with the Chieftains winning by a final score of 56 – 41.
Junior Mason Brodi led the way for the Chieftains with a total of 19 points going 8 for fourteen, shooting with a 57 percent field goal percentage. He also had 9 rebounds and 6 assists.
Sebastian Soriano also made a very key impact in the victory over Eisenhower with 12 points, going 5 for 9 shooting with a 56 field goal percentage. Soriano also had 4 rebounds with 3 assists and 3 steals.
The rest of the Chieftains combined for a total of 25 points, and went 11 for 24 shooting.
Fans were very happy about the victory.
“I believe that the game was a very dominate thing to happen,” sophomore Chris Palm said. “I feel like Eisenhower has been the dominant school for a long time, and I believe that will come to an end very soon.”
Sophomore Raymond Abi Younes was also excited about the win.
“I was super happy that we won against Eisenhower,” Abi Younes said, “and got our get back for when we lost in football.”
Utica is now undefeated with four wins and zero losses, looking to add more W’s to their record.
