With the new year comes new restaurants for the Macomb area. Serving meals from breakfast to dinner, these new eateries are sure to garner customers as they open.

One of these new establishments is Del Taco. The fast-food restaurant is located on 23 mile road, near Walmart. The chain is known for it’s Mexican food, but that’s not all that it serves. Del Taco also serves burgers, fries and various desserts in it’s restaurants.

“I’m so excited for the new Del Taco, it makes my stomach rumble,” junior Marivel Cruz said. “I’ve heard the churro milkshakes are really good, I can’t wait to try one.”

Beyond is also opening just a few doors down from Del Taco. This new juice bar and eatery has both vegan and non-vegan options for patrons. They also offer juice cleanses and smoothies, made in store. Bottled juices are also available for purchase for on-the-go customers.

“I’m excited for Beyond because it’s really hard for me to find places that I can eat,” junior Kaitlin Kerr said. “Also, it’s cool that places like this are encouraging people to eat healthy.”

For those who prefer early eating, the new restaurant First Watch may be the place to try. First Watch is located at 23 mile road and Hayes, and offers a variety of breakfast foods. Fresh fruits and vegetables are prepared daily for their dishes, along with French toast batter made from scratch.

“I love it, because I’m a health nut,” senior Lindsey Berg said. “Their food is really good for people who like healthier breakfast foods.”

Whether you like pancakes or tacos, these new restaurants are sure to serve your taste buds. Make sure to test out all these new establishments and see how they stack up against each other.
