After a hard fought season, the varsity boys cross country team took top three out of 27 teams. This is the third year that the boys have been placed in the top three in a row. Both players and coach are very proud of this accomplishment.

“I feel this group is one of the hardest-working teams I’ve ever coached,” coach Megan Berry said. “We have an outstanding tradition of excellence in our program, and they continue to raise the bar of what is expected to achieve greatness.”

As one of the captains of the team, senior Angelo Pipitone is glad to see the team evolve and grow into what it became.

“As a captain you have a completely different view of the team,” Pipitone said. “You get to watch the people you are with grow stronger and achieve new goals all the time.”

The season is not over yet for the boys cross country team. Although the team has had many personal bests this season, there are still two more meets to go.

“We look to be one of the top teams in the MAC red division meet and also in our region.” Berry said. “Carson Nicoletti looks to qualify as an individual for states and we also have a chance to qualify as a team if we finish top three at the regional meet.”

The boys cross country team ended second in the MAC red division championship. The team also had 4 all-conference athletes, this is the first time since 2011 this was achieved.
