Girls Cross Country Regionals

Coming up on Oct. 26 is the Algonac Regional Open Race, which the girl’s Cross Country team will be running. At 1:00 p.m they will be running, trying to get the best score possible.

With the regionals just a few days away, sophomore Alexis Plonka was working hard to prepare. Each runner has different things they do in order to get ready for each race.

“Usually I just try to calm myself down,” Plonka said. “I’m nervous because I’m hoping everyone on my team does well and I’m hoping I beat my P.R.”

The team goes up against many others during Regionals, and if they do good, runners may make it to States.

“The regional is a meet where every team in the region comes to one race and we have opportunities to try and qualify for states.” Plonka said.

Continuing with great hopes, the Cross Country team’s runners will do their best in their last events before the seasons end.
