Music is a key part of the holiday season. Christmas music has become a tradition throughout the entire world.
Music brings everyone together during a time that is often referred to as “the most wonderful time of the year.”
Every year the music department puts on holiday shows to add to the festivities. A performance by the band was held on Dec. 7, while the choir performed the following week, on Dec. 13.
“It felt good to share what we’ve been working on,” senior Natalia Kowalczyk said, “because it’s always hectic getting something together.”
Months of preparation went into perfecting the holiday concert, as he practices began long before the holiday season neared.
“We started practicing and rehearsing the songs the second week of school,” senior Parker Heatley said.
Holiday classics such as “Let it Snow” and “Silent Night” were heard during the concert.
For some this show is extra special.
“Since I’m a senior,” Heatley said, “I’m really happy that I get to end my choir holiday season with good people and a great performance.”
The shows turned out to be successful for both the band and the choir. The holiday concert tradition entertained once again this year.
“I feel the concert was a success,” Kowalczyk said, “because each band member did a wonderful job, and the audience enjoyed the annual Section Basket Raffle.”
